long update

Posting doodles and some in development pieces. I update my tumblr more often than this blog. D:

Summer went pretty great, learnt lots though I always wish I can learn and do more!

I'm at the point where I'm comfortable with drawing, as opposed to before where I feel like everything I put down is a bloody mistake.

Starting a creature a day thing to get better! I update most often at my tumblr! Check it out if you have the time. Also posting cool stuff by other people on it.. you know how tumblr is... a cesspool of awesome.

Warm up to get back into things. :D

Used blue pencil but somehow it became a really light grey when scanned.. so some surgery was needed.

FACES! Which I haven't done in a long time.. I think I drew them too generic-ish. Yes I hate black conte.

Painting uses too much brain.  Shape + colour study. Failed composition + chopping of limbs , thanks for the crit~   I'm only pleased with the legs.  :C

couple of last week's LDs

 Me foot is off.  It looks like it needs to be bigger, but I can't show it turning.

Not so much observing as it is design? Or changing from observation to design.

For the past few weeks been trying to get back into life drawing. Still can't achieve the values and contrast that I want. Definitely need wayyyy more practice controlling values whilst depicting form.

Rwf from a few weeks back.

Cows were the easiest to draw simply because they sat and shat and ate.

Surprisingly enough the pigs rolled around a lot.

Amazed at the size of a draft horse. Almost twice as high as a human male, so if you sit on one, effectively gives you a treble height difference which makes it really intimidating. Wonder if they were used as war horses in the past? Top image is of regular, not draft horses running around.

Sketch for that layout street view. It looks so much better as a thumbnail.

Had feedback that said this was super stylised... and I agreed. I'd just generalised the direction of the cloth so it's not really draping the form.
