And so an umbrella in the face

Close up

Done for theme city slicker.  Realllllly need to do more like whoa, realised I don't have enough things for a decent anything.  On another note, I have never coded anything in my entire life and found it a mass of confusion until I sort of understood it a few hours ago....  /brianhurt

insect pains

Process

Insect views. I do think the sepia ink looks better, but the requirements were to be in BLACK. Ugh...  despite this, I still feel the urge to take a shower after watching too many insect videos. It's even better with the upcoming project where I have to observe and illustrate insect behaviour... shudder. Sorry guys, it looks like I won't be getting rid of this phobia any time soon.

Need sleeepppp.. and find myself resorting to undead pimply things to paint. Bioshock influence is evident, I hope...  They're all low res.

Somehow prefer the b/w version, I didn't pay much effort to the colours. For this week's theme, ski resort.. and it reminded me of all those skiing deaths in recent years, hence the zombie.

For another monthly sketch. Bioshock style virus in the Middle Ages? Instant epidemic, that's what... so the populace has gone insane and will attack any traveller that comes within distance, not to mention the roving bands of afflicted knights, bandits and what not. Lack of hygiene makes things worse indeed.

anotherdayyy

I'm really starting to like this painting landscape thing. :D Now how to make it more portable...

I'm sorry, she actually isn't cross eyed. :I Likeness is a minor factor.

It's actually a reflection of the top half... image obtained by moogling about in photoshop.

The first time acrylic enviro painting turned out alright. Will do this again!

blackberry

This week's theme is blackberry!  So I did this semi-crude image because I thought of blackberry, bushes and  then trimming. In a different style then usual; looking at a friend's stuff reminded me that I still need to try out other things.
Plus wrong leg muscles as a bonus.

Other choice for blackberry.  Had quite a few random ideas but decided not to do all of them.

sketches?

Influenced by amazinglosers.blogspot.com ( yes, here comes a shameless plug) , a blog co-maintained by 4 fellow friends who post their sketches every week.  I should start posting my sketches, but they aren't really all THAT interesting. As a friend put it, it's more of a learning sketchbook, containing mostly studies and random coffee stains.
That's all for this boring post!

Cafe render! edit.

Changed the lighting, and I think this one works better. There's a morning feel to it.

Marker rendered tables

I feel that whenever Doug says "attempt", it really means: " do this like a professional". Stupid me forgot about the wood grain and drew against it. :L I'm going to redo it, because I'm sure Ian'll blow a gasket. Apologies for the bad lighting.

bugs

For friends' weekly theme thing, thanks for inviting! Though I think I did a rather cliched image. Probably still unfinished.

The current bug assignment.... equally parts cool and disgusting. I can't stand the small teeny ones. the bigger the better because I can actually see them.  Rough linear.

Cafe room render

It's more cliched than I hoped it would be...really wanted to add more things to it but am hindered by the program/insufficient computer.  -___-    Trying out alternate lighting tomorrow and fixing glitches.  In the mother of all evils, strata.

tofu anatomy

Because tofu is always hot on the inside when you eat it, causing your mouth to explode. Wanted to try something new, but probably the last time I shall do vector art.
