Italy ... 2011

Well, here they are, the few presentable pages of my wonderful summer dream. I WILL  RETURN SOMEDAY - with better painting skills hopefully- I've realised how atrocious mine are during this trip.  Sketchbooks were of different sizes and the smaller ones were sooo much fun to draw in!  Will definitely think about getting those in the future- I find that they help me think about space better.

A small sample of how many sugar packets I consumed along with coffee..... the sugar packaging grew into a small collection.   :D

More food packaging...  cioccolates! 

Some inks/watercolours that we had to do during the trip - honestly I regretted buying that Bristol paper, hated the texture and lack of grip. My nonsense pad of old watercolour paper would be better.  /: Plus it was too big to work with - basically not enough time to capture everything I wanted. fail

 Bought the long watercolour sketchbooks for Vencie - but didn't paint as much as I'd hoped too.  The most magical thing would honestly be the interlocking waterways and bridges, the whole city on the sea bit.... other than that I felt that the tourist attractions were overrated compared to Florence. It spoilt me so. One example being gelato.  Sighhh. 

Short and late.

Between entertaining far away relatives, major project and personal visitation plans, I realise I hardly have any time for self improvement, which is not my goal for this summer. /: I know I said I'll post the sketches from the Italy trip, but I've decided to do it after the project due date.

Realised the stuff I've been doing are studies from pictures to increase understanding? Re-painting after a long while is always a struggle.....

Bittersweet return

Back back back back and I miss it already,the freedom of exploring and the simplicity of drawing all day, everyday.  Not to mention the food GELATO, though I was starting to miss Chinese food.  /:

Learnt quite a bit from this trip, am satisfied with this. Will see if I can meet up with some other people( this means you HC) over the course of the summer, too bad I most likely can't join people in HK due to time constraints...  and this reminds me of the yet to be done final project.

Will upload sketches and things in the following days, they are still unfinished.
really inspired to keep creating travel journals now,. should really have bought more sketchbooks goddamn

Last update before the trip~

Sigh.  Living at home is really different, I'm bound to everyone else's schedules instead of my own. And then there's the emptiness of things when school ended. Plus sleeping schedules are messed up, parents insit that sleeping at 1 am is unhealthy and I get yelled at. >.>  I do have projects that I want to get started on, but they have to wait until..... the Italy trip!
Haha, looking forward to it! This shall be the highlight of my summer as I am not planning to travelling anywhere else once 2nd year starts.  I shall cross my fingers, get inspired and hopefully draw a crapload of things.

So., one last drawing/ doodle before I leave.

..... After that lecture on Thursday it seems as if the majority of people end up doing or starting in editorial, which makes me doubt my goals a little, since they differ FAR FAR from that. I want to do mostly entertainment art, not necessarily to inform or educate (but I don't mind).  It seems like most of what I want to do is more related to animation than anything else.   >^<.  Just gotta work my ass off and expose my works MOAR, methinks.

Also need to obtain some sort of language program because finding the chars individually is a major pain in the butt, and also because English sometimes is inadequate for expressing certain things.

Last day for the term!

What can I say? Everything is zipping by and tomorrow's the last day of the school year. 8D  Crazy stress during the last month or so though, that's why I was sparse on the updates. Severely need to redo the calendar during the summer because D DIDN"T GIVE US ENOUGH TIME ADJAIGKA.

So here's the last batch of life drawings for the semester! I need to get myself a camera and better lighting. T^T

And then there's Italy.. :D

Ugh, I want to roll over a ditch and die.   I love digital, but this amount and speed of work pace is killing my left shoulder. Plus, because I brought this upon myself, I have to make sure the rest of the images are rendered to this extent.

Along with other problems, just found out that the friend me and another roomie were going to rent with has decided to move back with her parents, so this means that I have to find someone else. Moving closer is good, but all this moving/finding people is such a pain. Plus, rent money = diu, as the apts are all charging for electricity now. Sigh. Now I need to think about finding someone whom we both are ok with, and thinking about how to tell my parents(again). I can either stay here and find two other people, or find another one for that side. This bloody chi bai stack of homework isn't helping. Diu.

Guess I'm gonna upload in real time. Made a few edits, but this is final.

Month:  April because of the showers. or July for monsoons( in N.A)? Not that we get them here in Canada...
